Barca confirms Pjanic-Arthur swap

Transfer: Barcelona confirms swap deal involving Pjanic and Arthur

June 29, 2020 By Oscar Rojas
The deal will also leave a $10M benefit for Barcelona once Juventus pays the agreed fee for the Brazilian midfielder.

What started out as a rumor even before the coronavirus pause is now a reality: Barcelona and Juventus have agreed terms to swap Arthur Melo and Bosnian midfielder Miralem Pjanic.

Last week, rumors close to the negotiation revealed that Arthur's desire to sign a better deal had slowed all negotiations down, but a satisfying agreement has been reached between the parties to seal the deal between Los Blaugranas and the bianconeri.

Spanish newspaper Marca has revealed that the deal between the Italian and Spanish sides will see Barceona paying Juve a bit over $60M for the player's services. The Bosnian midfielder is set to play in Spain for the next four years, according to the contract between the parties.

Here are the player's first words after the deal was made official.

On the other hand, the Blaugrana side has revealed that Melo will join the bianconeri side once the Italian club pays a bit over $72M for the initial deal, with an additional $10M subject to objectives. The length of the deal between Melo and the Italian side was not revealed.
