La Liga action continues this midweek with league leaders Real Madrid taking on sixth-placed Getafe, live on beIN Sports and Fanatiz USA. Elsewhere, fourth-placed Sevilla face second-from-last Leganes with the sole aim of keeping a good distance between themselves and fifth-placed Villarreal, who are only three points behind. However, all eyes will be on one game for the following round and that is Barcelona vs Atletico Madrid.
This match is more than a simple showdown between two of Spain's biggest clubs. While encounters between the Blaugrana and Los Rojiblancos always go a long way in shaping the title race, this encounter could either spark life back into Messi and Co's hopes of winning the league or it could be the final nail to the coffin for their title defense. The Catalan giants are now two points behind Real Madrid, the exact same advantaged they enjoyed – but have now squandered – over Los Blancos when the season resumed. Setien's side suffered another slip-up over the weekend, drawing 2-2 with Celta Vigo on Saturday ahead of their clash with Simeone's side, a result which handed Zidane's men this lead.

Man City vs Liverpool headlines upcoming Premier League round as top-four race heats up
The standout Premier League clash this midweek is Man City vs Liverpool. While this encounter will not shape the title race as it did last season as the Merseyside giants have already been crowned the champions of England, this game will see England's top two clubs lock horns. The Citizens recently beat Newcastle 2-0 in the FA Cup quarter-final to book their ticket to the penultimate stage and with De Bruyne and Co. still in the race for the Champions League, victory over Klopp's side could do wonders for their form and confidence.
Elsewhere, Man United will be in action, taking on a Brighton side that beat Arsenal not too long ago. The gap between the Red Devils and fourth-placed Chelsea is four points, with Solskjaer's sole aim being to leapfrog the London giants. Speaking of the Blues, they will visit West Ham in a London Derby. Lampard's men recently beat Man City and Leicester, but their performance in the triumph over the Foxes did not please the manager. Arsenal, who are also through to the FA Cup semi-finals, will face bottom-in-the-table Norwich.
NWSL Challenge Cup carries on, Bundesliga relegation playoff kicks off with 1st leg Werder Bremen vs Heidenheim tie
The Challenge Cup kicked off on Saturday with the North Carolina Courage vs Portland Thorns clash, which the NWSL champions won 2-1. The action continues this midweek, starting off on Tuesday at 12:30 PM ET with Houston Dash vs Utah Royals, live on CBS All Access in the USA and Canada. Portland will play on Wednesday with their goal being to bounce back from their Saturday defeat, taking on Chicago Red Stars, who also lost over the weekend. Courage and Washington Spirit, both with a win each, lock horns later that same day.

Elsewhere, in the Bundesliga, with the season now officially over, the attention switches over to the relegation playoff. Werder Bremen, who came in at 16th in the standings, take on Heidenheim, 2. Bundesliga's third-placed team. A spot in the German top-flight is at stake, with the winner of this playoff set to participate in the no.1 division next season.
