The Red Devils' skipper stepped up to score the decider in the dying embers of Saturday's cup tie with Norwich.

Manchester United have secured a spot in the semi-final of this season's FA Cup, thanks to a last-ditch strike by Harry Maguire against Norwich City. The captain of the Red Devils poked home a half-chance in the 118th minute to prevent the possibility of penalty shootouts which almost looked certain.

Saturday's outing was far from the glamorous spectacles that have characterized Manchester United's most recent showings. Following a drab first half without any goal, the Red Devils finally broke the deadlock through Odion Ighalo in the 51st minute. The Nigerian striker simply side-footed a pass from Juan Mata to secure his fifth goal in eleven appearances for his current side.

A stunning long-range strike by Todd Cantwell in the 75th-minute subsequently restored parity for the hosts and complicated things for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men. However, a red card by Timm Klose in the 89th minute severed the chances of Falke's side, making them handicapped ahead of extra-time.

The resilience of Norwich almost endured for the whole 30 minutes period but for a moment of improvisation by Harry Maguire. The England defender left his base at the back to be involved in attack and was fortuitously served with a chance which he scrappily converted for Manchester United's winner. Watch the goal below:

Having proceeded to the last four in the cup competition, the Old Trafford outfit will know the opponents they will come up against on Sunday evening. The likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal will all be in contention for qualification places in clashes with Leicester City, Newcastle United and Sheffield United respectively.
