Both the Blades and the Gunners have disappointed upon returning to action. A spot in the FA Cup semi-final is at stake. Who’ll grab it? Live Soccer TV's preview gives you match facts, team news, and global broadcast listings for Sheffield vs Arsenal.

Preview – Sheffield vs Arsenal

This is probably one of the two most exciting FA Cup quarter-final showdowns – the other being Chelsea's trip to Leicester. The Premier League's eighth-placed team will play host to the Gunners, who currently reside in ninth spot in the English top-flight. One aspect that makes this tie interesting is that while both Wilder's side and Arteta's men were Champions League hopefuls, both clubs endured horrible starts once the season resumed.

Arsenal, being the more high-profile team, hogged the limelight but for all the wrong reasons. In their first game back, the north London giants visited Man City and despite keeping things tight for the majority of the first half, susceptible defending let them down once again, as a David Luiz blunder gifted the Citizens the opening goal. The Brazilian then conceded a penalty and was sent off en route to a disappointing 3-0 loss.

Their following game saw them travel to Brighton, a team who had not won once in the league in 2020 prior to this game. Aubameyang and Co. suffered an embarrassing 2-1 loss, a result that was made all the more bitter by the injury sustained by Bernd Leno. On a quick note, the man who scored the winning goal for the Seagulls was the same man who injured Arsenal's German keeper and put him on a stretcher.

Arteta's men beat Southampton 2-0 in their most recent game but that result is not enough to instill confidence back among the supporters. While Arsenal can claim to have bounced back from a run of poor results, the same cannot be said about Sheffield. The Blades are yet to win a single game since resuming their campaign, drawing with Aston Villa on June 17 before losing back-to-back ties against Newcastle and Man United.

Team news

Sheffield: The Blades will receive two huge boosts for this game as Dean Henderson and John Egan are back after missing out the clash with Man United. Unfortunately, the jury is still out on Jack O'Connell who has not featured once for the club since the season resumed after picking up an injury.

Arsenal: Gabriel Martinelli is out for the rest of the season. Additionally, while Bernd Leno has escaped a long layoff after his unfortunate injury against Brighton, this game comes too soon for the German. Pablo Mari is out while Lucas Torreira looks to miss this tie as well. Question marks hover over the availability of Tierney and Soares. The Scottish fullback picked up a cramp against Southampton while his Portuguese counterpart is lacking match fitness. The latter could make his Arsenal debut, however, in this game.
