On Thursday, Liverpool were officially crowned the champions of England, winning the Premier League title for the first time in 30 years after Chelsea beat Man City 2-1. In all fairness, the title race had been over for quite some time. The focus now shifts to the FA Cup quarter-finals, with everyone from Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal, Man United, and Sheffield remaining in the competition.
The most exciting game from the all-Premier League last eight is Leicester vs Chelsea. The top-flight's third and fourth placed teams will lock horns on Sunday in the second-to-last fixture of this round. Fresh off their 2-1 win over Man City in the league, the Blues will be keen on registering a third consecutive victory since returning to action.
Chelsea definitely enjoyed their win over Man City ahead of the FA Cup quarter-finals!
Elsewhere, record 13-time champions Arsenal will be in for a tricky test, taking on Sheffield this weekend. After suffering back-to-back defeats in the league against the Citizens and then Brighton, the Gunners bounced back by beating Southampton 2-0. A top-five or even top-six finish appears unlikely for the north London giants, meaning the FA Cup could be the only route into Europe for Arteta's men.
Manchester duo Man Utd and Man City will also be in action this weekend, with the Red Devils visiting Norwich City and Guardiola's side making the trip to Newcastle. Who will progress to the semi-finals? Tune in to find out.
Barcelona, despite their three wins and one draw since resuming their campaign, have been far from impressive as of late. The Blaugrana have surrendered the lead to Real Madrid, who they trail due to an inferior head-to-head record, and could suffer another setback when they visit Celta Vigo on Saturday. Things are yet to click for the Catalan giants under Setien and it will be interesting to see if they finally do at the Balaídos. Los Blancos, on the other hand, will be locking horns with bottom-of-the-table Espanyol live on beIN Sports and Fanatiz USA.
Barca and Real Madrid are level on points but Los Blancos hold the advantage
Meanwhile in Serie A, Juventus will continue the campaign to defend their title, this time taking on Lecce on Friday. Given that their opponents are a team in the midst of a relegation battle, the Bianconeri are all but destined to win. Victory would increase their lead at the top to seven points temporarily, given that Lazio are not in action until Saturday. The Eagles will be taking on Fiorentina with the aim of bouncing back from their midweek defeat against Atalanta. Don't miss these games!
Football is coming back to the US! The NWSL Utah Challenge Cup will be kicking off this weekend, making it the first professional sports league to return in the United States. This month-long competition commences on Saturday, with only eight teams participating due to Orlando Pride's withdrawal. North Carolina Courage will lock horns with Portland Thorns at 12:30 PM ET, with Chicago Red Stars vs Washington Spirit at 10:00 PM ET being the second tie. These games can be watched live on CBS and CBS All Access while fans in Canada can follow these matches on Twitch.
