Real Madrid and Juventus target makes history in Premier League return

June 20, 2020 By Oscar Rojas
Mexican striker Raúl Jiménez led the way for Wolverhampton's win with a late header against West Ham.

The English Premier League is back with a bang, and one of the most in-form players in the competition did not waste time to make his presence felt again.

Mexican striker Raúl Jiménez paved the way for Wolverhampton's first win after the coronavirus break with a well-placed header against West Ham. Furthermore, the former Benfica and Club América player managed to re-write his club's record books with his 14th goal of the season.

Jiménez opened up the scoring after 73 minutes to improve the team's record for most Premier League goals in a single season. The record belonged to himself, but he has managed to improve that tally with an impressive performance this season.

If that was not enough reason to celebrate, Jiménez also managed to break a record in possession of his compatriot Javier Hernández.

"Raúl Jiménez is now the Mexican striker with the most goals scored in a single Premier League season, surpassing Chicharito's record."

Jiménez has scored 23 goals in all comps and has also handed out 10 assists for the Wolves this season. With those numbers, it's no wonder to see his name being linked to teams such as Real Madrid, Juventus, and even Liverpool.
