Live Soccer TV gives a quick overview of Lecce vs AC Milan as well as provides info on where to watch all the other games on MD 27.

After the Coppa Italia finished last week Serie A league play resumes this weekend, with quite a few make-up games first on the roster before Matchday 27 really gets underway on Monday, June 22nd. The teams that will be in action earlier to play their games in hand are: Torino, Parma, Hellas Verona, Cagliari, Atalanta, Sassuolo, Inter, and Sampdoria. This octet of sides have played 25 games, but once this weekend's round of fixtures finishes, they will have completed 26 games, bringing them level with the other 12 teams in the table for matchday 27 to fully get underway.

Many of these teams have a game in hand due to Serie A's interruption as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic whilst others, like Atalanta and Inter, had their league fixtures rescheduled due to European committments and never had a chance to make it up earlier.

Match of the round: Lecce - AC Milan

After seeing their one chance at winning any silverware go up in smoke following a loss to Juventus in the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia, Milan now have to turn their attention back to league play and trying to pick up as many points between now and the conclusion of the 2019/2020 campaign. Although Napoli have already grabbed a Europa League spot thanks to having won the Coppa Italia, a berth for the Rossoneri is not totally out of reach.

However, Stefano Pioli's side need to get their affairs in order - quickly. One of Roma or Atalanta will earn a Champions League spot, with the other having to settle for the Europa League, and although Hellas Verona and Parma are not on winning streaks at the moment, neither are Milan, who only narrowly sit ahead of those two sides - and that was because Milan had played one more game than those other two teams prior to Serie A coming to an abrupt halt in March.

It goes without saying that the Diavolo will want to kick proceedings off with a resounding victory over 18th-placed Lecce, who come into this match on a two-game losing streak and will be desperate to turn things around as they face a battle for their top flight status. The visitors will be without the services of veteran striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic due to a calf injury, but can still field Ante Rebic despite his dismissal during the team's Coppa Italia semi-finals loss earlier this month.

Talking points ahead of matchday 27

How will Juventus recover from disappointment in the Coppa Italia?

There has been quite a bit of criticism leveled at new Juve boss Maurizio Sarri this term, and he certainly won't have done much to silence his critics following the team's performance in the Coppa Italia final last week. Ironically, Sarri, who failed to win a single trophy during his time with Napoli, ended up losing the final to his ex-side who are now under the tutelage of Gennaro Gatusso after the match went to penalties. With the Scudetto being a lot closer than many had expected as Lazio are still refusing to give up their chase for their first league title since 2000, the pressure on Sarri has now gotten even heavier following La Vecchia Signora's Coppa Italia loss.

Juventus are in action next against tenth-placed Bologna, a team that they've generally done well against, but all eyes will be on the Bianconeri and how they shake off the disappointment from their Coppa Italia defeat.

Will Lazio be able to pick up where they left off? And will they be able to overtake Juventus in the battle for the Scudetto?

Meanwhile, Lazio were in fine form prior to COVID-19 spreading to Italy and forcing a shutdown of sports. The question now is as to whether Simone Inzaghi's side will be able to pick up where they left off and continue their dogged pursuit of Juventus in what has turned out to be a very interesting Scudetto battle.

Serie A fans will well remember how Napoli - then under the leadership of current Juventus boss Sarri - chased Juventus for much of the season in the race for the Scudetto, only to fumble at the last minute by losing to Fiorentina and end up empty handed. Obviously, Lazio fans, and quite a few neutrals, will be hoping the Biancocelesti won't end up suffering the same fate. Lazio, by the way, still do have to play Fiorentina later this month, with that clash coming up right after their match against Atalanta, another team who have done surprisingly well again this season.
