Liverpool will aim to go a step further in their pursuit for the league title this season with a win over their local rivals.

Match Preview

Premier League champions-elect Liverpool will commence 'Project Restart' with a trip to their local rivals Everton for the Merseyside derby on Sunday. The latter will be hoping that the restoration of the season will bring better fortune having struggled to get the results in successive games prior to the hiatus.

In their last three outings, the Toffees have come up against Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea respectively. Bar the draw against the Red Devils, Carlo Ancelotti's were condemned to defeats in games versus the two other sides.

The results give a partial reflection of what Everton's form has been over the course of the their last 10 matches. In that, the Goodison Park outfit has managed just three wins with four of the games ending in a draw while the remaining three were also drawn.

Meanwhile, a contrasting run of form lies in the camp of Liverpool who will be looking to wrap up the league as soon as possible. Despite the shock defeat to Watford messing with their unbeaten run, the Reds have been unplayable in the league this season.

They approach Saturday's encounter on the back of nine wins and one defeat in their last 10 EPL matches. While the propensity to wrap up the championship was taken away from Liverpool following Manchester City's win over Arsenal on Wednesday night, a win at the Goodison Park will consolidate the Reds' status even further.
