The Spanish footballer had not played a single competitive game for Los Blancos in over a year due to a knee injury.

Real Madrid fans believe that Marco Asensio might be key to see Los Blancos winning both La Liga and the UEFA Champions League (if they can manage to revert their current disadvantage against Manchester City), and the player did not disappoint them with his first goal after recovering from a knee injury.

The player wasted no time in making his presence felt at Alfredo DiStefano Stadium, as he scored his first goal for the Spanish giants this season after just 30 seconds on the pitch. Asensio had not scored a goal since the return leg of the 2018-19 UEFA Champions League Round of 16 against Ajax.

Asensio managed to put to good use an assist by Ferland Mendy to end quite a long spell in front of goal with this impressive goal. Maybe if Asensio keeps up the good work, they will be right about the player's influence in their chances of success.
