La Liga is back! Seville derby ushers in the return of the Spanish Primera Division
The wait is over. The return of La Liga is finally here! Having halted play back in March due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Spanish top-flight will be making its return on Thursday, June 11. The game to get things back underway is none other than Sevilla vs Real Betis.
The Seville derby will be particularly crucial for Los Hispalenses. Lopetegui's side are in the midst of a heated Champions League race, with only five points separating La Liga's third-placed team from seventh-placed Valencia. Real Sociedad and Getafe, who sit in fourth and fifth respectively, are only a point behind Sevilla, while sixth-placed Atletico are only two points adrift. Victory will be crucial for Ocampos and Co.
Sevilla players are preparing for the return of La Liga
It should be noted that this La Liga game will not be the first league match to take place in Spain since the suspension of football. A day prior, on Wednesday, June 10, Segunda Division sides Rayo Vallecano and Albacete will lock horns. The only thing that separates Albacete and the relegation zone is their goal difference, as they sit level with 19th-placed Deportivo La Coruña on 35 points. As or Rayo Vallecano, who are the home side, they are only five points clear of the danger zone and could find themselves in a tricky spot should they lose Wednesday's tie.
The DFB Pokal semi-finals commence with Bayern, Leverkusen, and Frankfurt resuming their bid to make the 2019/20 final
The Bundesliga has made a successful return and now it's time to shift focus to the DFB Pokal, with the two semi-final games taking place on June 9 and 10. The first of the two penultimate matches will see Leverkusen take on Saarbrücken straight after their weekend defeat in the German top-flight. Die Werkself, who were without star attacker Kai Havertz in Saturday's game, hosted Bayern Munich with the hopes of beating the reigning champions but suffered a 4-2 defeat and will thus be aiming to return to winning ways when they visit the Regionalliga Südwest outfit.
Speaking of Bayern Munich, the German giants will take to the field the following day. Unlike Leverkusen, they will not be facing a fourth-tier club in the semi-finals. Instead, Die Roten will be facing a fellow Bundesliga side in the form of Frankfurt. Lewandowski and Co. have been in excellent form in 2020, winning all but two of their 17 matches in this calendar year (D1, L1) but this form will be put to the test when they take on the 2017/18 champions. Who will emerge triumphant? Catch this game live on ESPN at 2:45 PM ET on Wednesday, June 10.
After beating Leverkusen 4-2 over the weekend, will Bayern overcome Frankfurt to make the DFB Pokal final?

Remaining 2019/20 Champions League set to be held in Lisbon
According to a report via BILD, UEFA has chosen Lisbon as the host city for a mini-tournament that will wrap up the pending Champions League season. Only half of the round of 16 ties were completed before the competition was indefinitely suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic. As a result, the organizers wish to stage the remaining games in one city and have chosen Portugal's capital city as the venue as it boasts two five-star stadiums in the form of Estádio da Luz and Estádio José Alvalade.
