The summer transfer window will be quite busy for all Premier League clubs, and one of them has already sealed a massive move.

After months of courtship between Timo Werner and quite a few Premier League teams, the German striker has reportedly chosen the team that seemed to have the least chances to sign him.

The 24-year-old striker seemed closer to join Manchester United or Liverpool for the start of next season, but despite Manchester United's hefty offer and the player's good relationship with Jürgen Klopp were not enough to convince the striker from joining the Red Devils or the Reds. Instead, Werner will join Chelsea as soon as they trigger the player's $61M release clause included in his contract with RB Leipzig.

In a report by The Daily Telegraph, Werner will reportedly earn a bit over $251,000 per week with the Blues, and his stay at Stamford Bridge will be extended until the end of the 2024-25 season.

Werner's arrival will see Frank Lampard's desire of signing a top-caliber striker satisfied. Unfortunately for the Blues, Werner's signing will see either Olivier Giroud or Michy Batshuayi leaving the club this summer.

Werner is five goals behind Robert Lewandowski in the Golden Boot race, and has frequently been linked to a move to some of the top clubs in Europe. Only time will tell if his first adventure away from Germany is as successful as expected by fans around the world.
