Preview: Leipzig vs Freiburg

Leipzig will be hoping to get their title challenge back on track. Prior to the Bundesliga being interrupted as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, die Bullen had seen their bid for the league title suffer a slight setback as they were knocked out of the top spot by Bayern Munich. The ambitious side, led by young coach Julian Naglesmann, have been on top of the table for various points twice so far this season, but come into this game now four points behind Bayern. That being said, as everyone gets back to action after two months without football, Leipzig certainly will have hope they can catch and overtake die Roten as they look to win their first ever Bundesliga title at the end of this campaign.

They've already played Bayern twice so far, and have drawn the Bavarian titans on each occasion, so between now and the end of the term, Naglesmann's side will naturally be looking to pick up as many points as possible. Upcoming opponents Freiburg, however, will have other ideas. Despite finishing in 13th last term, they find themselves in eighth this time around and due to how congested things are in the middle of the table, Freiburg, who were playing in the 2.Bundesliga as recently as 2016, are in contention for a Europa League football spot if things go their way.

As such, they will be looking to mark their return to action with a win on Saturday, but that will be much easier said than done. Freiburg have failed to win nine of their last 10 away games, and Leipzig have lost just once at home so far this season. In fact, they have the second best home record in the league, with only Dortmund, who have not lost so far, doing better.
