The Argentine striker admitted that the chances to watch 'La Pulga' leave Los Culés are slim.

Sergio Agüero all but confirmed in an interview how his close friend Lionel Messi came inches away from leaving Barcelona in the recent past during an interview with Spanish TV show El Chiringuito.

The friendship between the Argentine strikers is well documented, but Aguero went a bit further when asked how Messi is set to end his career at Camp Nou, especially after snubbing an offer to leave the club.

"Leo is a symbol and a legend at Barcelona. There's always a chance for things to happen, but Leo has seen 20,000 players come and go and he has chosen to stay. I know for a fact that he had a chance to leave the club and he decided to stay," Aguero stated.

Messi was heavily linked to a move away from the Camp Nou in 2017, but he chose to snub offers from the Premier League in order to extend his stay with the Blaugrana side. According to Aguero, it would take a miracle to see Messi leaving the club at this stage of his career.

"It is not a question of money, it's a matter of how much he loves the club. He is strongly linked to the club and he is comfortable there. He's happy. The club may have it's problems, but he will keep playing for them. It would take a catastrophe to see him leave, but I just don't see it happening," Aguero added.

Messi's deal at Camp Nou includes an exit clause that would allow him to leave Barcelona on a lower transfer fee. Nevertheless, that possibility is far from happening, according to Aguero.
