Despite being their closest rivals, this Citizens ace has no doubts in his mind as to who deserve to be crowned champions.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, football has been put on halt and it remains unclear when the season can resume. This is true for the Premier League and the 2019/20 campaign, which Liverpool were inches away from clinching prior to the suspension.

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, many have called for the season to be cancelled. Some argue that 2019/20 should be declared null and void if resumption is impossible.

However, this opinion is not shared by a certain Man City player by the name of Bernardo Silva. Despite representing the Reds’ closest rivals, the Portuguese ace admits that Klopp’s side truly deserve the league crown.

If the league was declared null and void, Man City would retain the title for another season. Despite this fact, the midfielder told Bleacher Report via Instagram Live (as per Liverpool Echo) that it should be awarded to Van Dijk and Co.

“Of course they do. Definitely,” Silva said when asked if Liverpool deserve the league crown.

“I think it’s a very sad situation, and probably now even if they win it they won’t enjoy it as much as they should, as they deserve to.

“They won’t be able to celebrate with their fans, they won’t be able to play with a crowd. It will be tough to play in the next two or three months with a crowd.

“But definitely they deserve this title, yes.

According to reports, the Premier League is planning on resuming the season, be it behind closed doors if need be. The players have been told to be ready for full training by the end of May which is another hint that the English top-flight will be back soon.
