Spurs is reportedly ready to part ways with its most-prized asset.

Manchester United could potentially secure the service of Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane this summer, a report by Daily Mail has revealed. The 26-year-old England could complete a switch to Old Trafford amid claims that Spurs club chairman Daniel Levy is preparing to sanction his sale for about $249 million (£200 million).

Despite establishing himself as the poster boy of the North London outfit, Kane is yet to break his trophy drought at the club. He has often been linked with moves to top European clubs and in a recent Q&A session on Instagram, the English striker hinted at moving elsewhere should his current club fail to secure silverware soon.

Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy is said to have been angered by Kane's words about his future. Relatively, the Spurs chief has been left to ponder on his club's finances which have been complicated by the suspension of the league season as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

According to Daily Mail, Levy will seek to mitigate the burden on the club's finances by sanctioning the sale of Harry Kane to any club willing to match his $249 million valuations. The funds will then be used to pay off part of the loan taken to complete the new stadium as well as other transfer related arrears.

Manchester United has been tipped as the ideal destination for Kane with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer expected to strengthen his frontline this summer. The Red Devils are also rumored to be closing in on the signing of Borussia Dortmund and England sensation Jadon Sancho.
