The Argentine talent has been linked with a Camp Nou move recently.

Lautaro Martinez is one of the most sought-after strikers in world football. The Argentine has garnered rave reviews at Inter Milan and is now being linked with several of Europe’s elite clubs.

One team reportedly interested in the forward is Barcelona. According to the rumors, the Blaugrana are keen on a new striker and wish to team up Lionel Messi with his countryman. The Inter Milan ace’s agent has now opened up about those reports and the player’s future.

Alberto Yaque, the man who represents Lautaro, insisted that there have been no negotiations with any club regarding a transfer. However, Martinez’s agent has flirted with the Barcelona speculations, admitting that the striker would love to play alongside Leo regularly.

"Who wouldn't like to play with Messi?" Yaque told Planeta 947 (as per Goal).  "Speaking of the games they played in the national team, he said it was a dream. Imagine, to play so young for Argentina and with Messi.

"But he doesn't say much about this. He's a very reserved boy. If we asked him where he wants to play, he wouldn't tell us anything.

"It would not be unreasonable for the greats to love him, but today there is nothing official."

Messi has spoken highly of his countryman, whom he played alongside with at the 2019 Copa America tournament. The pair established a lovely partnership and the Barcelona board are reportedly keen on replicating this at Camp Nou.

Other rumors claim that Real Madrid are competing with the Catalan giants in the race to sign Lautaro and have already reached out to his camp. However, according to his agent, these are exactly that – rumors.

"They call me from Madrid, from Barcelona, from England, because they say that Real, that Barcelona, that Chelsea want him, but I would be lying to you right now if I told you there is something,” Yaque added.

"I don't know [about] between clubs, but for us there is nothing."

Despite this, the consensus is that it’s a matter of when – not if – Martinez will leave the Nerazzurri. Whether he will join Messi at Barcelona or replace Benzema at Los Blancos, however, remains unknown.
