Given that the Argentine forward turns 32 this year, Guardiola is already hunting for his replacement.

Sergio Aguero remains one of the deadliest strikers in not only England, but in world football. He is a Man City legend, the best player in the club’s history in the eyes of many, but this does not paper over the fact that his days at the Etihad Stadium are numbered.

The Argentine will be turning 32 in June, meaning his Premier League employers have to find the long-term successor to the former Atletico Madrid talent. According to Tuttosport (as per SPORT), the Citizens have found their man.

He is none other than Lautaro Martinez, the Inter Milan striker who has Europe’s biggest clubs pursuing him. Their reasons for wanting him are obvious: having scored 16 goals this season, the Argentine starlet has garnered rave reviews and has shown the world that he is a star in the making.

Guardiola reportedly highly rates the 22-year-old and sees him as the ideal man to succeed Aguero. Unfortunately, SPORT point out that the Premier League giants aren’t the only club after the Argentine.

The team seen as the favorites to land him are Barcelona. The Blaugrana are in need of a no.9 and Lautaro himself is keen on playing alongside countryman Messi. The Inter Milan forward is also on Real Madrid’s radar.

The Nerazurri are planning for the possibility of his departure and will likely offer him to the highest bidder. Only time will tell who that club will be.
