The MLS franchise are playing their part in the fight against coronavirus by promoting one of the most effective ways of containing the virus.

The coronavirus pandemic rages on, with the vastly-spreading virus infecting more and more people. With football being brought to a standstill due to COVID-19, players and clubs are playing their part in spreading awareness.

Inter Miami, David Beckham's MLS franchise, are now doing their share. The club altered its logo, separating the two white herons on the badge to promote social distancing.

Social distancing is one of the most effective measures to contain the coronavirus, alongside washing your hands. The two herons had been interlocked in a sign of unity but have now been separated to encourage the world to keep a healthy distance from one another.

In a statement regarding the altered logo, Inter Miami's VP of Community Engagement Chris Allan said as per their official website:

"COVID-19 has stopped the world in its tracks and as a result it has never been more important to heed the advice and direction of the authorities to stand for unity and participation in social distancing.

"Inter Miami CF wants to leverage the reach of our Club, players and ownership group to amplify and share this message with those who follow us in South Florida and around the world."

Inter Miami began their first ever Major League season with back-to-back defeats against LAFC and D.C. United. Their first home game was eventually postponed due to COVID-19, with the league as a whole eventually getting suspended until May 10.
