Due to the uncertainty surrounding the Citizens and their odds of featuring in the Champions League, the Blaugrana look to steal one of their key players.

Barcelona are reportedly ready to take advantage of Man City's European ban by stealing one of their star names. That man is none other than Aymeric Laporte.

The Citizens were slapped with a two-year ban from the Champions League over FFP breaches. The Premier League giants have appealed that decision to the CAS but the Premier League outfit are expected to compete in Europe next season as the coronavirus will likely delay a verdict. Nonetheless, the Blaugrana look to profit off of this uncertainty.

Mundo Deportivo is the driving force behind these rumors so they should be taken with a pinch of salt. The Catalan newspaper writes that the champions of Spain have long had their eyes on the French center-back and will attempt to lure him away from the Etihad Stadium.

Their reasons for wanting the former Athletic Club center-back are obvious. He is a talented defender who has thrived at a possession-dominating club, a criteria players have to meet before making the switch to Camp Nou.

Unfortunately, there is little to suggest that Laporte will force a Barcelona move. He is keen on European football but is happy in Manchester. Furthermore, Guardiola's side are in no rush to sell a player as important as Laporte.
