After postponing the 2020 UEFA Euro, football's governing body in Europe still believes there is a window of opportunity to play all competitions before the original end of the season.

UEFA's videoconference with its 55 members left some major talking points, including the potential dates of the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League finals.

With June free of all football activity after the decision to postpone the 2020 UEFA Euro one year, UEFA execs have revealed that, if things go as planned and the virus can be contained up to the point where football matches can be played, both continental tournaments will know their winners in the last days of June.

In the meeting, UEFA affiliates postponed the UEFA Champions League final from May 30, 2020, to June 27, 2020. As for the 2019-20 UEFA Europa League, the title match was changed from May 27, 2020 to June 24, if things go as planned by UEFA.

Those four extra weeks would allow all domestic competitions to come to an end despite the ongoing pause in all competitions due to the coronavirus pandemic. Added to that, UEFA would be able to schedule all games if there are signs of improvement in the world regarding the spread of this disease.

The last UEFA Champions League game to be played as of today was the clash between Liverpool and Atlético, which saw the defending champions abdicating the throne by losing against Los Colchoneros with a 4-2 aggregate.
