How many African teams can qualify for the 2020 Women's Olympic Soccer Tournament?

The winner of the 2020 CAF Women's Qualifying Tournament qualifies to the Women's Olympic Soccer Tournament. The runner up nation will face the second-place team from the CONMEBOL qualifying tournament, also known as the Copa America. 

Zambia secured a ticket to Tokyo by winning the 2020 CAF Women's Qualifying Tournament. Runner-up Cameroon will face Chile in the intercontinental playoff match.

How many CONMEBOL nations can participate in the 2020 Women's Olympic Soccer tournament?

Two out of the 10 South American nations can participate in Women's Olympic. The winner for the Copa America previous to the Olympic Games qualifies automatically while the runner-up plays an intercontinental playoff match. 

Brazil was the winner of the 2018 Copa America gaining an automatic spot in Tokyo 2020. On the other hand, Chile finished second and will have to play the second-place team from the CAF qualifying tournament, Cameroon. 

What are the dates for the Women's Olympic Soccer international playoffs?

The play-off will be played as a two-legged tie – home and away – on April 9 and 15 2020. The first leg will be held in Cameroon and the second leg will be played at Chile.
