After seeing the original fixture called off due to the coronavirus outbreak in Italy, the much-anticipated Juventus-Inter clash will finally get underway - but without the roar of a massive crowd.

Preview: Juventus vs Inter

After having to be rescheduled after the Wuhan-originated coronavirus rampaged through Italy, disrupting life for millions of citizens, the highly anticipated Juventus vs. Inter clash finally will get underway this Sunday.

When exactly and how this outbreak happened in Wuhan, most of us will really never know. However, the disease had killed thousands already in China and sickened many more, spreading worldwide before the Chinese government finally decided to inform the world that it was a crisis at the end of 2019. As things stand, Italy is one of the hardest-hit countries outside of China, and as a result, Serie A games have been cancelled and rescheduled, with major concerns as to how this could affect the rest of the season.

Subsequently, this match will be played behind closed doors as Italian authorities struggle to deal with the health crisis that has struck their country. The delay of this game has given Lazio a false sense of security, as the Biancocelesti currently sit on top of the Serie A table for the first time all season, and for the first time in many years. Still, it's only temporary. If Juventus win this game, they will overtake Simone Inzaghi's side. Should Inter win, they will cut that gap to five points, and they still have a game in hand. So, it goes without saying that the current league leaders will be watching this game with interest - and the best result, really, for Lazio fans will be for Inter to win, or at worst, a draw.

Juventus come into this game having seen their Coppa Italia clash with Milan cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak, meaning that they got an extra week of training for this must-win clash. Maurizio Sarri will be bitterly disappointed with how his team failed to implement his playing style against Lyon, as Juve ended up losing for the first time to Les Gones in their European history. Overall, "Sarri-ball" has failed to really take root so far as the players have struggled to adjust to his tactics, and he will be desperate to see his team get back to winning ways ahead of their Champions League second leg fixture coming up in less than two weeks' time.

By contrast, Inter are comfortably into the round of 16 after seeing off Eastern European outfit Ludogorets without much fuss. The Nerazzurri also had their Coppa Italia tie cancelled as well, so they'll be well rested for this match as well, and Antonio Conte will be certainly relishing the clash with his former side in Turin as he aims to help Inter pick up their first win over La Vecchia Signora since 2012.

Team news: Juventus vs Inter

Juventus: Although Giorgio Chiellini has returned to light training, he's not likely to feature from the start here. Merih Demiral is out for the rest of the season. Douglas Costa and Sami Khedira have also returned to light training as well, but won't be fit to start, either.

Inter: Samir Handanovic looks set to return after recovering from a fractured finger. Both Stefano Sensi and Roberto Gagliardini are still out.
