The Reds will face off against Chelsea in the fifth round of the FA Cup but will be without a few key players.

Liverpool are gearing up for the FA Cup, with the Premier League leaders set to play their first game since losing their unbeaten run. To make things all the more exciting, they will be facing off against Chelsea in a highly-anticipated fifth-round tie.

Unfortunately, the Reds will be without a few key players. Speaking ahead of this match, Jurgen was asked for team news and he offered two positive updates and a few disappointing ones.

The German boss told reporters that two players could be back in time for this tie but only two. He said (as per football.london: "No new ones [injuries], I think. Joe and Millie are back. The others aren't."

This means Liverpool will be without captain Jordan Henderson and attacker Xherdan Shaqiri but that’s not the only blow as this game comes too early for Naby Keita. Many were hopeful of seeing him return for this game but Klopp admitted that he is not fully recovered from his hip issue.

"[It is] a little, little, little bit but enough with his hip. I can’t really say more, that’s the only information I got from the medical department," Klopp stated.

"[He] is not ready [but] could be ready after that game, but for that game not. It’s not serious but obviously serious enough."

The Guinea ace has been out with a hip injury but as confirmed by the manager, he should be back after this match. Unfortunately, they will have to make do without his services in their attempt to bounce back from the 3-0 loss to Watford and beat Chelsea.
