The Blues secured their first piece of silverware this season, thanks to the English international's last-ditch strike.

Chelsea Women's Football Club made history on Saturday night by beating Arsenal to their first-ever Continental Cup title. All it took was a last-ditch tap-in from Beth England to seal the Blues' first silverware of the 2019/2020 season.

In retrospect, initial indications pointed at the Gunners nicking the win in extra-time having turned on the heat after conceding first to their London rivals. In the action-filled finale, the sloppiness of Joseph Adrian Montemurro's side was not spared with Beth England grabbing Chelsea's opener under 10 minutes.

With despair engulfing the Arsenal bench from that point thereafter, Leah Williamson popped up to hand her side a glimmer of hope with an equalizer in the 85th minute. However, what appeared to have handed the Gunners a lifeline was squashed not too long after as Chelsea's resilience was rewarded once more through Beth England in the 92nd minute.

The Blues' historic win on Saturday broke the duopoly between Arsenal and Manchester City which has existed since the inception of the tournament in 2011. So far, the Gunners remain the side with the most titles with five and are trailed by last season's champions Manchester City with two silverware.

Meanwhile, Chelsea took its winning toll for the season to 21 in 25. Emma Hayes' ladies have lost just once game and drew three in the ongoing campaign.
