As promised, the Citizens will do everything to fight the UEFA ban and have reportedly already hired a lawyer.

As promised, Man City are gearing up for their fight against the recent European ban they were slapped with by UEFA. According to the Mirror, the Citizens have already hired their lawyer to fight their case.

According to the report, the Citizens have turned to David Pannick QC, an experience and famous lawyer. As a result, it is understandable that he would pockets an exuberant fee from the Abu Dhabi-owned team.

In case you haven’t heard of Pannick, he has twice represented Brexit activist Gina Miller and has twice stopped the Great Britain’s exit from the European Union. In 2016, he infamously blocked former Prime Minister Theresa May from going ahead with Brexit without the consent of the parliament before garnering another victory back in September in a case involving current Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

This wouldn’t be Pannick’s first gig with Man City, having been hired by them back in 2013 for an Appeal Court case against former boss Joe Royle. However, a lot more is at stake this time and is on a whopping £20,000-per-day ($26,000-per-day) salary to fight their European ban.

The Premier League giants have taken their battle to the Court of Arbitration of Sport where they will present their case to have UEFA’s decision overturned. The club do not want to miss out on Champions League revenue and the ability to retain their star players and attract others for two whole years.

The likes of Guardiola and Sterling have publicly stressed their commitment to the Etihad Stadium but Man City will do everything within their power to overturn the sanction. There have been claims Sheikh Mansour, the owner of the Manchester giants, plans on suing UEFA but that remains a rumor as of now.
