Preview: Fiorentina vs Milan
Neither Fioretina nor Milan have had particularly impressive seasons, although Milan will be very disappointed with conceding a last minute penalty against Juventus in their Coppa Italia fixture to have to settle for a 1-1 draw. The Rossoneri did recover well from their heavy 4-2 loss to Inter in the Derby della Madonnina witha narrow 1-0 win over Torino thanks to a goal from Ante Rebic and they will be looking to chase down the European spots with a victory on the road against Fiorentina. With Roma floundering lately, a win for Milan would see them narrow the lead on the fifth-placed Giallorossi to just one point if Roma lose again this round.
As for Fiorentina, they sit in 13th place and have temporarily stopped their winless run, but given how they have been all over the place this season, it remains to be seen whether this is the start of better things to come for the Viola or just a flash in the pan. They picked up a confidence-boosting 5-1 win over Sampdoria recently, but will be welcoming a Milan side who are led by none other than Stefano Pioli. Serie A fans, especially Fiorentina supporters will recall the way Pioli left under rather acrimonious circumstances from the Stadio Artemio Franchi due to a bitter dispute with Fiorentina's previous owners, the Della Valle brothers, not too long ago.
