Los Culés have finally decided to stop all negotiations and pay the clause included in the striker's contract with Los Pepineros.

Just 72 hours after being granted permission to sign a new striker, Barcelona has finally decided to sign Leganés' Danish striker Martin Braithwaite as a short-term solution to their injury woes.

The player, who has scored six of Leganés' 18 goals this season, will reportedly be unveiled on Thursday once Los Culés trigger his $19M buyout clause.

Yesterday, Leganés' owner Felipe Moreno had stated that Braithwaite would not leave the club until Barcelona came up with the money to pay the aforementioned clause, which the Catalan giants are expected to do today.

The player trained today at Leganés' compound, where he was spotted carrying boxes into the trunk of his car, in what seems to be an indication of an imminent move.

The Spanish league granted Barcelona a permit to hire a new striker after offering medical proof of Ousmané Dembelé's long-term injury. Braithwaite was the third option of a five-man shortlist, which included Real Sociedad's Willian José, Betis' Loren Morón, Getafe's Angel Rodríguez and Zaragoza's Luis Suárez.

With only hours left for the announcement to be made, Leganés will reportedly ask for a permission to sign Braithwaite's replacement, with the main difference being that they will try to sign a free agent.

The Danish international has scored 85 goals for his five previous clubs, adding seven more with his national team. His only titles came when he played for his native country's Esbjerg.
