Man City ace takes huge blow after UCL ban

Man City ace 'damaged' by team's UEFA Champions League ban

February 17, 2020 By Oscar Rojas
The team is expected to appeal the decision made by UEFA, but chances of watching it being reduced seem slim.

Manchester City's ban from the 2020-21 and 2021-22 UEFA Champions League editions could very well see some of their top players leaving the club not only because of their lack of European football, but also because of the financial ramifications emerging from this case.

According to a report by Belgian outlet HLN, and considering that the case is yet to be appealed by the club, one of the players that could consider an exit is none other than Kevin De Bruyne, who is set to lose a massive bonus for failing to play with the team in the continental club competition.

While Pep Guardiola and Raheem Sterling have pledged their loyalties to the Citizens, the futures of other players such as De Bruyne is still under questioning. The Belgian playmaker is set to miss out on a bit over $3.2M for the aforementioned fact, and this could be the first one of Manchester City's players to leave the club due to this ban.

The case is yet to be examined by football's governing body in Europe, and while there is no clear indication on what will happen, it seems that Manchester City's execs will have to work overtime to try and keep everyone satisfied...including their own players.
