The Brazilian is expected to return to action in the European cup game after missing his side's last three games.`

Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel has thrown doubt on the prospect of Neymar featuring against Borussia Dortmund after failing to confirm the winger's availability. The 28-year-old Brazilian was omitted from the squad that fought back to earn a 4-4 draw with Amiens in Saturday's Ligue 1 clash but it still remains unclear whether he will be involved in Wednesday's tie.

Both Neymar and Kylian Mbappe as well as a host of first-team players were nowhere near Les Parisians' squad-list for the weekend's away game and Thomas Tuchel's side almost paid a hefty price for it. In essence, the first half of the encounter ended with the hosts having a 3-1 but a renaissance in the second half saw the visitors taking the lead, thanks Tanguy Kouassi's brace and Mauro Icardi's 74th minute strike. In the end spoils were shared with Sehrou Guirassy getting the equaliser in the 91st minute.

In the aftermath of Saturday's game, PSG boss Thomas Tuchel was quizzed on Neymar's fitness status but was unable to confirm that the Brazilian will be ready for the trip to Germany. Regarding Saturday's 4-4 draw, he blamed the day's performance on the lack of concentration considering that the crucial Champions League tie with Dortmund is just around the corner.

"I cannot say [whether or not Neymar will be available] today. We have to wait for training tomorrow."

"We weren’t focused enough at the start of the match, that’s all,” he added.

“It shows that we’ve played 21 or 22 games while being very strong and focused, but today was not like that.

“There are reasons. We chose to have absentees, we left a lot of players at home. It’s normal, it’s a situation before a decisive match in the Champions League. Because of that, we didn’t find our real mentality in this match.”

Essentially, the prospect of Neymar sitting out the European cup game does not bid well to the chances of PSG considering how instrumental he has been at the club once again. Despite featuring in just 18 matches this season, the forward has scored 15 times and 10 assists.
