The Spanish coach's long-term future at the Etihad is now in serious doubt.

Pep Guardiola will reportedly assess his position as the headcoach of Manchester City at the end of the season, a report from England on Friday has revealed. The uncertainty around the 49-year-old manager's future comes on the back of his side being handed a two-season Champions League ban by UEFA.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Juventus was keen on securing the service of the former Bayern Munich and Barcelona boss to replace the under-performing Maurizio Sarri. According to reports from the English and Italian media, the Bianconeri is prepared to give him 'whatever it take' to bring him on board as they see him as the man capable of leading them to the Champions League title for the first time since 1996.

Prior to the news of Juve's said interest, Guardiola - whose current contract runs out in June 2021 - once revealed that he risked being sacked should he fail to deliver the European title at Manchester City this season. And on Friday, a statement by UEFA placed the Citizens in the position to not even compete as they will be suspended for the next two editions of the competition.

In the bombshell delivered, the organisation's Adjudicatory Chamber of the Club Financial Control Body found that City had "committed serious breaches" of its Lincensing and Financial Fair Play Regulations. The current Premier League title holders have since issued a statement to voice out its dissatisfaction and plan to appeal the ruling.

Needless to say, the outcome of the redress remains insignificant as the current situation has all but fueled Pep Guardiola's prospective departure as per Telegraph. Former Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino remains a strong favorite to take over should the Spaniard move away although Manchester United is also reportedly keeping tabs on him.
