The Egyptian ace seems to be considering that option, but his country's FA does not seem to have doubts on his presence.

Once again, Mohamed Salah seems to be destined to play for Egypt's Olympic team, but there seems to be a confusion between the team's coach and his agent on this matter.

Liverpool's footballer has been tipped by coach Shawky Gharib as one of the three overage players that will play for Egypt in the upcoming summer Olympics. The other two names are yet to be revealed, but Gharib has been quite eloquent when praising Salah's skills.

"Out of the three senior players we'll call-up, Salah is the only one we're settled on so far because he's simply one of the top three players in the world. I haven't talked to Salah at all about him joining the U-23 squad for the Olympics, but in all honesty, his participation in the Olympics will need a little effort from him as well," Gharib stated.

Even if Salah is keen on playing for the Egyptian team during the summer, he will need clearance from Liverpool, especially since the final games are scheduled to be played during the first weeks of the English Premier League. He'd also need to skip a number of pre-season games with Liverpool if he chooses to commit with the Egyptian team.

What really stands out is that the player's agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, has already stepped up to clarify his client's intentions to play for the African side this summer.

Salah played for Egypt in the 2012 Summer Olympics, scoring three goals in four games, and leading the team that was eliminated by Japan in the Quarterfinals of the competition. Will the player have another run for the gold this summer? Let's wait and see if the Egyptian FA and Liverpool can reach an agreement.
