The Red Devils talisman has come clean on the developments that have stunted the development of the club.

Manchester United star lifts lid on club's biggest problem in eye-opening interview Manchester United midfielder Fred has blamed the club's woes on the lack of togetherness and creativity on the part of its players. The Brazilian international claims that the Red Devils are currently riddled with problems because some players have "different objectives" to their team-mates.

Following a rather poor debut season at Old Trafford, fortune has seemingly smiled on Fred who has been overly remarkable since the beginning of the ongoing campaign. With his Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side missing the likes of Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay in midfield, the former Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder has fully owned the role and has arguably been the Reds' most improved player this season.

Nevertheless, the upward trajectory seems to reside in his camp alone with Manchester United's struggles refusing to die out. Currently, the 20-time English champions find themselves occupying the eighth position in the Premier League and are six points adrift of a Champions League place.

While speaking on De Sola's YouTube channel, Fred highlighted that part of the Red Devils' problems can be attributed to his teammates.

"We are lacking a lot right now," he stated.

"First of all we need to figure out things on the pitch, we are lacking creativity, especially in midfield.

"We also need to improve as a group, our group lacks the 'sticking together' mentality, we have lots of problems. There are a lot of discussions, every group has this sort of problem, but ours has this.

"Vanity is also an issue and we need to stop this and just run on the pitch," Fred added.

"We need to stick a goal inside our minds, focus on it and go forward. "We need to be on the same page and today some players have different objectives, there are players that just want to solve problems alone and this is wrong."

Fred and his fellow Manchester United teammates are currently in Spain for a warm-weather training camp. The Red Devils will mark their return to England with a crunchy Premier League encounter with Chelsea on February 17.
