Striker Odion Ighalo will remain training on his own while the club works out in Marbella, but this could have been avoided.

Apparently, Manchester United's decision to sign Odion Ighalo on Deadline Day had a few ramifications, and now the striker will not be able to train with his team-mates in the team's training camp set to be held in Spain.

The move, which caused quite a stir, has also brought a lot of criticism to Manchester United's management, since their plan to have the full squad training in Spain will not be fulfilled due to the deadly Coronavirus epidemic.

Any person that has traveled to China in the last 14 days might face some problems if he want to travel by airplane, and Manchester United execs decided to ground the footballer for the next days, giving him a workout regime to follow this week.

Odion will stay in Manchester, because he arrived from China in the last 14 days. Because of the situation in China, we're not sure if he'd be allowed back into England if he leaves the country again," coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer stated.

The Norwegian boss admitted that Ighalo's absence will be a setback in the player's adaptation to his new surroundings, but the club decided to be safe rather than being sorry on this matter.

"Of course he might have liked to have come with the players and got to know them, but the risk [of potential border restrictions tightening], we don't want to take that," Solskjaer added.

Even so, Ole believes that staying back home will be good for Ighalo, while also describing the circumstances in which he will be working out this week.

"He's staying here working with a personal coach on an individual programme. His family then can settle in England as well. That's a plus," Solskjaer concluded.

The Nigerian striker scored 39 goals for Watford before joining Changchun Yatai in the Chinese Super League. He scored 36 goals in 55 games for this club before joining Shanghai Shenhua. He scored 10 goals in 19 games for the team known as "The Flower of Shanghai" before joining the Red Devils.
