Another game, another lovely goal for the Utah Royals attacker.

Did anyone doubt USWNT would qualify for the upcoming Olympics? On Friday, the USA women’s national team confirmed their ticket to Tokyo 2020, and their CONCACAF Women’s Olympic Qualifying Championship final as well.

The world champions took on Mexico in the semi-finals, brushing aside El Tri Femenil and beating them 4-0 to move on to the final. And as they did in their huge victory over Costa Rica, the Stars and Stripes began the onslaught early.

Rose Lavelle broke the deadlock for the 2019 Women’s World Cup champions in the fifth minute, with Sam Mewis doubling their lead in the 14th minute. The North Carolina Courage midfielder added a second in the second half but the best goal was saved for last.

Christen Press netted the fourth and final strike for the USA, scoring a lovely chipped goal. The Utah Royals FC attacker dribbled into the box and after seeing her first attempt blocked, she dinked the goalkeeper, with a fortunate deflection helping the ball find the back of the net in epic style. Watch it in the video below.

The two finalists of the CONCACAF Women’s Olympic Qualifying Championship are guaranteed a spot in Tokyo 2020. The other side to book their ticket are Canada, beating Costa Rica 1-0 to book a showdown with USWNT.
