The Norwegian ace was tipped to join former Molde boss at Old Trafford, but he chose the Bundesliga outfit for one curious reason.

Norwegian star Erling Braut Haaland has hit the ground running at the Bundesliga, but fans are still wondering why he chose to snub a move to Manchester United instead. Well, that enigma was solved today by Borussia Dortmund's sporting director, Michael Zorc.

Speaking in an interview with Bild, Zorc described how Dortmund knew that Haaland's move to Manchester United was almost sealed, but they decided to use an ace in the hole: a video that showed the footballer the famous "Yellow Wall" at Signal Iduna Park. According to Dortmund's exec, that's all Haaland needed to change his decision.

"He seemed to like it! We had to reach high to sign Erling and it's no secret that other well-known clubs were working hard to get him. In our first conversations there was already a positive atmosphere and we both felt good. Erling and BVB fits 100%," Zorc stated.

Dortmund's exec revealed what went through his head when he was told by agent Mino Raiola that Haaland would be joining the black-and-yellow side, while also praising the 19-year-old's skills.

"I felt like a little boy! This combination of robustness, quality of finishing, good technique and his speed makes Erling special. He also has a tremendous personality and that suits Borussia Dortmund, our stadium and our fans. That is what defines our club and is exactly what Erling was looking for," Zorc concluded.

Here are Haaland's numbers with Dortmund since the start of 2020.
