The player and coach clashed over the weekend after the Frenchman was once again substituted, with the latest unfolding catching the attention of Real Madrid.

Real Madrid’s interest in Kylian Mbappe is no secret and after witnessing the clash between the player and PSG manager Thomas Tuchel on Saturday, transfer rumors were bound to go into overdrive.

According to the latest reports, Los Blancos are keeping a close eye on the situation between player and coach after their heated exchange during Les Parisens’ 5-0 win over Montpellier. This latest incident occurred when the World Cup winner was subbed off in the 68th minute of the weekend victory, a decision that did not sit well with the attacker.

After making his way off the pitch, Mbappe and Tuchel spoke for 15 seconds before the former Monaco ace angrily took his seat on the bench. While the gaffer tried to defuse the situation, Kylian was visibly livid at being taken off and made the German tactician aware.

The pair covered their mouths during their exchange of words, meaning what was said between them remains exactly that – between them. However, Le Parisien report (as per AS) that a meeting was held with Mbappe, Tuchel, and the club’s sporting director Leonardo with the aim of clearing the tension between the player and coach.

Unfortunately, those talks did not end well. Le Parisien write that while no bust-up occurred during the talks, the relationship between the pair could be at a point of no return.

The 21-year-old’s issue with the PSG boss is the number of times he keeps getting subbed off. This is not the first time Tuchel chose to take of Mbappe, much to his displeasure.

This will be a worry for the Ligue 1 champions as they look to fend off interest from Los Blancos. The speedy goalscorer is under contract until 2022 but doesn’t appear keen on extending that deal, with Real Madrid aiming to sign him for less than $331.5M next year.
