Things at the top of La Liga's table looked good for Real Madrid before the start of the weekend, but with their win against Atlético, they are starting to look even better.
A crucial goal by Karim Benzema and a tactical masterclass by Zinedine Zidane gave Los Blancos a key win against Atlético in the second Madrid Derby of the year. The French boss made a couple of substitutions when things seemed to be getting tough, changing the course of the game and eventually helping the club to nab three points in the title race.
Each derby gives the people involved the chance to make history, and this time, players and coaches left their mark in this rivalry with this performance. For example, Karim Benzema managed to end quite a hoodoo with his goal against the inner-city rivals.

Then, we have to highlight the team's defensive unit, which has been a crucial force for Los Blancos in Zidane's attempts to bring back this team to where it belongs.
"STATS: Real Madrid has set a new franchise record for the least conceded goals at this point of any La Liga season (13 goals in 22 games). The previous record was set in 1962, 1965 and 1988, with 14 goals in 22 games).

Last, but not least, we have to talk about Zinedine Zidane. The coach ended a massive hoodoo against Diego Simeone's side in La Liga, while also adding one more record to his resume with Los Blancos.

We honestly don't know if Zidane will be able to win La Liga this season, but the French boss has proven his coaching skills time after time.
