Real Madrid hatches plan to sign Mbappe

Real Madrid's plan to sign Mbappe revealed as PSG rules out imminent sale

January 24, 2020 By Emmanuel K. Budu-Annor
The Paris outfit is not interested in parting ways with the French sensation any time soon but Real Madrid has other means to make them.

La Liga giants Real Madrid have reportedly hatched a plan to secure the service of Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe after been dealt a blow in their pursuit. The 21-year-old striker's club has closed the door is expected to see out the remainder of his contract with Les Parisiens which ends in 2022, ending speculations of him leaving in the near future.

Long since his move from AS Monaco to French capital outfit Paris Saint-Germain, Mbappe was heavily linked with a transfer that will see him understudy his compatriot and idol Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid. The narrative has been the same with each passing transfer window after joining the Ligue 1 outfit despite the club reiterating that his exit in the forseable future is off the table.

Often times, Mbappe has dropped hints suggesting that a move to the Santiago Bernabeu is not far off and just recently, he raved about how Los Blancos head coach Zinedine Zidane remains an inspiration for his relatively young career. That withstanding, the belief at the Spanish club is that former Monaco prodigy will join the club although Catalan publication Sport has enough reason to state that a move is not on the cards until after at least two more years.

According to their report, PSG still has no intention to part ways with Mbappe despite the striker's reluctance to sign a new contract extension. As a result, the club will risk losing him on a free when his contract expires in 2022 than to sell him when he still has some years to play in the Ligue 1.

On the contrary, Real Madrid is planning to make things work in its favor by using the same method it used to sign Eden Hazard from Chelsea last summer to get Mbappe to move to Spain. As per Sport, the Merengues will submit an offer to PSG in the Frenchman's final year of his contract in 2021 and hope that a agreement can be reached for his transfer.
