The Welsh ace scored the opening goal for Los Blancos in the Copa del Rey, but he had to leave the pitch due to a muscular problem.

He may be one of the most controversial names in Real Madrid history, but he has found a way to make his presence felt.

Gareth Bale managed to end a goalscoring drought of 143 days, and while at it, he led the team's victory over Unionistas de Salamanca in their 2019-20 Copa del Rey debut. If that was not enough cause for celebration, Bale surpassed none other than Ronaldo in the team's all-time goalscorers' list.

The Welshman scored his 105th goal for Los Blancos this evening, leaving Ronaldo's 104 goals behind. So far, Bale has scored 80 goals in La Liga matches, three goals in Copa del Rey games, and sixteen more in European competitions. Added to that, he's scored 6 more goals in FIFA Club World Cup games, among other tournaments.

As for Ronaldo, the Brazilian legend scored 83 league goals, while addinh four more in Copa del Rey clashes. His European tally has also been outshined by Bale, since he just scored 15. Ronaldo also managed to find the back of the net two more times in other club competitions.

Unfortunately for Bale, the evening did not end on a high note for him, since he had to leave the game with a muscular problem. This should represent a major setback in his alleged plans to leave the club with just ten days left in the winter transfer window.
