The Uruguayan striker is recovering from a knee surgery that could keep him out for the rest of the season.

Luis Suárez's term as a Liverpool player ended abruptly, but the player seems to keep fond memories of his time at Anfield, even after that shocking elimination from the UEFA Champions League with Barcelona last season.

In an interview with Youtube channel OTRO, the former Liverpool footballer looked back at some of the key moments in his playing career, including his time at Liverpool. While doing that, he decided to heap praise on Reds' fans, which might not go down well among Barcelona loyals.

"In my opinion, they are some of the best fans for all the love they showed me the entire time I was at Liverpool. They loved me and treated me spectacularly. That is why they are some of the best fans in the world. For me, they are the best," Suárez said.

The Uruguayan also discussed why he hit it off right from the beginning with Lionel Messi.

"Besides being friends in football we are also friends outside of it. I think to have a good relationship on the pitch, you also have to have one off it. He opened the doors for me at the club since I arrived here," Suárez added.
