Man Utd make Bruno Fernandes breakthrough

Transfer: Man United reportedly make breakthrough in Bruno Fernandes pursuit

January 22, 2020 By Ali M.
This is according to reports coming out of Portugal.

Man United fans will welcome the latest update surrounding their club’s pursuit of Bruno Fernandes. According to reports coming out of Portugal, the Red Devils have made a breakthrough in negotiations and could complete a deal today.

This claim is made by Portuguese tabloid A Bola. They state that this breakthrough came after the Premier League giants upped their offer to just over $72M for the highly-rated midfielder.

The move initially stalled as Man United and Sporting CP could not agree on a fee, with the Premier League giants refusing to meet his employers’ initial $79M valuation. While the Red Devils’ latest offer still does not match that figure, the Portuguese giants have agreed to meet the Old Trafford side halfway.

Solskjaer’s side will pay $62M upfront, with an additional $11M in potential add-ons being agreed upon. A Bola adds that the deal could even be completed today.

Man United’s need for a midfielder was made all the more urgent by the recent injuries to McTominay and Pogba. Fernandes will offer creativity and a goalscoring threat to Old Trafford should the move be completed.
