The RB Leipzig superstar is interested in a move to the Premier League but not to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have received a huge blow in their pursuit of Timo Werner. The Blues are one of several clubs interested in the talented forward but according to Bild, the striker has his eyes on another Premier League club.

The German tabloid reports that the RB Leipzig star is interested in a move to Liverpool. The Bundesliga sensation has publicly flirted with the idea of moving to England and sadly for the Blues, Anfield is his first choice.

The 23-year-old has been in inspirational form this season, scoring 20 goals – level with Lewandowski – to propel his club to the top of the Bundesliga. As a result, it comes as little surprise to hear Europe's elites are eyeing the German.

Bild claims that he has a $66.5M release clause currently, which is a bargain by today's overpriced market standards. Furthermore, the German tabloid also claims that value will decrease each year until his current contract with RB Leipzig expires in June 2023.

Werner will likely seek out a transfer before then. Some reports have suggested Liverpool are interested in the 23-year-old and will throw their hat into the ring for his signature.

Another bonus for the Premier League leaders is their relationship with his employers. The Merseyside giants boast a good rapport with RB Leipzig after signing Naby Keita from the Bundesliga giants.

Chelsea, who will host Arsenal in a highly-anticipated Tuesday London Derby, were keen on adding a talented striker to their ranks alongside the promising Tammy Abraham. Given that Bild is a credible source in Germany, the Blues might be forced to look elsewhere.
