Africa's potential representatives at the next edition of the World Cup are set to discover their next hurdle ahead of Qatar 2020.

Africa is once again gearing up for the biggest tournament in world football with Qatar 2022 slowly approaching. The 22nd edition of the competition - the very first to be held in the Arab world - will be the last to involve 32 teams with an increase to 48 teams scheduled for the 2026 tournament in North America.

Needless to say, Africa will still present four competitors to who will attempt to clinche the continent's first-ever world title. The 40 teams who qualified out of 54 teams in the first round have been seeded into four pots. 10 groups are expected to be created for the qualifiers where one side will be drawn from each of the pots.
