Los Blancos fans celebrated the recent update.

Despite being level on points with league leaders Barcelona, Real Madrid’s season has been hampered by injuries. However, Los Blancos have received lovely news regarding two players’ return to fitness.

They are Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio. The pair were pictured running on the training pitch on Monday morning. The pair had returned last week but this was the first time they had run in football boots and not trainers.

While this does not mean they will be back in action very soon, it is proof that their road to recovery is progressing well. This is the case for Asension who has not featured for Los Blancos this entire season.

The Spaniard has not played a single game since rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament against Arsenal in July 2019. The winger had to be stretchered off the pitch and later underwent surgery.

The 23-year-old is on course to make his return in the final months of this season, should he avoid any setbacks. Unlike Hazard, who is all but guaranteed a spot in Belgium’s Euro 2020 squad, Asensio will face a race against time to convince Spain boss Luis Enrique to hand him a call-up for next summer’s tournament.

As for Eden, he has been out for nearly two months after fracturing his ankle in the Champions League showdown with PSG but is expected to be back in time for the highly-anticipated round of 16 clash with Man City.
