Quique makes his debut this Sunday as he aims to lead the Blaugrana to victory in his first match in charge. Check out our match preview for more info

What is the form of Barcelona compared to Granada?

Barcelona are winless so far in 2020, playing two games, drawing the first and losing the other. That defeat came against Atletico Madrid in the Supercopa de Espana semi-final, a result which played a huge role in Valverde’s sacking. The Blaugrana have only one win from their last five matches but have lost only once in their last 13 (W8, D4).

As for Granada, they head into this tie on the back of back-to-back wins. However, in their last five games, they have suffered two defeats and have lost six of their last 11 matches in all competitions (W4, D1).

Barcelona vs Granada head-to-head record

These two sides have met 13 times in the Spanish top-flight. It comes as no surprise to see Barcelona leading the head-to-head record but Granada have won twice against the Blaugrana, including a 2-0 triumph in their most recent encounter. The visitors, however, have lost every single Camp Nou trip.

All eyes will be on Quique Setien as he is set to make his debut this weekend. The Spaniard was named as the latest Barcelona boss after Valverde’s sacking and has the task of turning things around at Camp Nou.

The Catalan giants are top of the league and are through to the UEFA Champions League knockout stage, which might trick many into believing all is well at Barcelona. However, their reliance on individual balance instead of impressive team performances has been their Achilles heel.

Fans are eager to see how he will set up his team. While he might field an identical lineup to Valverde on paper, the former Real Betis tactician is expected to shake things up tactically both on and off the ball.

Unfortunately, he will not have a fully-fit squad at his disposal. Frenkie de Jong is suspended while Arthur is also a doubt, leaving him short on options in the middle of the park.

Furthermore, Suarez and Dembele are both on the sidelines, which means he might field a front three of Messi-Griezmann-Fati. Barcelona boast an excellent record at home against Granada and will be keen on earning their first win of 2020.
