The Belgian star did not hold back when discussing why he was visibly out of shape when he started his stint with Los Blancos.

Eden Hazard's first season at Real Madrid has not been what most fans expected, but one thing they can praise him for is his ability to come clean about his shape when he joined Los Blancos.

Fans were baffled to see Hazard with a few extra pounds, and the Belgian finally revealed how much weight he put on during the offseason while giving fans a few more details on how his metabolism works.

"It's true, I won't lie. When I'm on holiday, I am on holiday. I packed in five kilograms during the summer. I am one of those guys who can increase his weight but drop it really quickly as well. Back when I played for Lille, I weighed around 72 or 73 kilograms and when I gained muscle I went to 75. This summer, I ended the season weighing 70 kilograms, but before I started working out I was weighing around 80 kilograms, but I managed to drop them in ten days," Hazard said.

The former Chelsea player discussed how Zidane tried to convince him from joining Los Blancos three summers before the deal actually happened.

"He called me after the 2016 UEFA Euro and told me 'It would be nice if you came here'. Those words were engraved in my mind since then,"the player added.

Hazard went on to discuss how he even believed his dream move to Real Madrid was not going to happen, pinning the blame on Chelsea for it.

"There was a lot of talk when I was younger, but there were never talks between the teams. The possible transfer started picking up pace two or three years ago, and after the World Cup I wanted it to happen, but Chelsea wouldn't let me leave. After that, I never wanted to leave them on the wrong terms," Hazard concluded.

The player is recovering from a minor fracture to his right ankle, and is expected to be back on the pitch next month.
