January 14, 2020 By Juan Aguerrevere
England fans have voted for Lucy Bronze ahead of Ellen White and Beth Mead to be named the 2019 BT England Player of the Year.

Bronze picks up the women's award for a second time having claimed the award back in 2015. Football fans in England bestowed the dynamic fullback ahead of 2018 winner, White, in second and Mead in third.

The year 2019 was special for the 28-year-old on the international stage helping England win the SheBelieves Cup for the first time in March followed by a semi-final finish at th 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup during the Summer. In the process, Bronze delivered a jaw-dropping goal in England's France 2019 quarter final win over Norway.

On the club scene, the Northumberland native went on to win four titles with Olympique Lyonnais – the Coupe de France, the Division 1 Feminine, the inaugural Trophee des Championnes and the UEFA Women's Champions League.

As a result of such a complete year, Bronze became the first English footballer to win the UEFA Women's Player of the year.

"Really grateful for this," Bronze wrote via Twitter. "Thanks to all the Lionesses fans who stuck by us and supported us in 2019. Let's make 2020/2021 count."

Bronze has 81 caps for the English National team and featured in 18 of the 20 fixtures throughout the calendar year.
