The Italian boss filed a lawsuit against the Blues after the London-based side decided to terminate his contract.

Antonio Conte was vindicated by a legal court after his departure from Chelsea.

An employment tribunal has issued its final ruling on the lawsuit filed by the Italian boss against the London-based side, awarding the tactician a testimonial amount of money for his dismissal last year.

Conte and his backroom staff were fired after their FA Cup win in the 2018-19 campaign, which prompted the Italian's lawsuit against the team. Today, judge Andrew Glennie admitted that the current Inter boss was unfairly dismissed by the Blues.

"The complaint of unfair dismissal is well founded. The respondant shall pay to the claimant a basic award of £1,524 ($1979) and a compensatory award of £83,682 ($108,711), being a total of £85,206($110,690)," the document states.

The amount of cash that Conte will collect from this matter is far from the $33M sum he and his staff collected after being fired by Chelsea in 2018, which was included in the team's financial statement of June 2019.

Conte still had one year left in his contract with Chelsea when the board decided to fire him, granting the coaching gig to Maurizio Sarri. Sarri would go on to leave the club after 12 months, with Frank Lampard being appointed as the Blues' boss for the ongoing season.
