The big-six in England grabbed the top six spots.

A recent infographic released by Result Sports breaks down the Premier League clubs that made the largest social media growth in 2019. The research produced the top nine clubs in terms of growth.

Unsurprisingly, England's big-six clubs (Man City, Man United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Tottenham) occupy the top six spots on this list. Wolves, Leicester, and Watford also made this list.

Result Sports took a look at growth overall several social media platforms, 15 to be precise. These included the very popular Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube while the likes of Pinterest, Tencent, and TikTok also made the cut.

In sixth was Arsenal. The Gunners was only one of two clubs to lose followers on Facebook (-60K) – the other being Man Utd, another struggling English giants. The north London giants made an overall growth of 5 million on social media, with Instagram (3M) and Twitter (1M) being their biggest contributors.

The Gunners were beaten by north London rivals Tottenham on this list, with Spurs coming in at fifth with an overall growth of 8 million, with Facebook (3M) and Instagram (3M) combining for more than half of that total.

Chelsea came in fourth with a growth of 10 million, followed by Man City in third with 11 million. As for the number one spot, that went to none other than Liverpool.

The champions of Europe racked up an overall growth of 21 million, almost double that of Man United (11M) who came in second. In fact, Liverpool's growth eclipsed that of the Premier League, withthe English top-flight clocking in at 16 million. Check out the infographic below for more info.

Instagram brought in the largest numbers for these Premier League clubs, with this social media platform accounting for 35 million for the top-six teams combined. Twitter, Facebook, and sometimes YouTube traded spots in second, third, and fourth.
