Could the Red Devils be preparing to announce a January signing?

The January transfer window remains open and one club heavily rumored to do business this month is Man United. Due to the injuries to Scot McTominay and Paul Pogba, the player the Red Devils have been linked with the most is Bruno Fernandes.

The Sporting CP midfielder is one of the most highly-rated players in the Portuguese top-flight, proving to be both a goalscoring and creative midfielder. The 24-year-old came close to an Old Trafford move last summer but the Premier League giants have reignited their interest in him.

Amid all of these speculations, one reporter has claimed that an agreement has already been reached with Fernandes. He is Nicolo Schira of Transfermrkt, tweeting that terms personal terms have been struck with his agent, with Man United now being in advanced talks with Sporting CP over a deal.

Schira states that the player is ready to put pen to paper on five-year deal and will pocket approximately $7.8M annually. According to O’Jogo, Sporting want Argentine defender Marcos Rojo as part of a player-plus-cash deal for their midfielder, with the transfer set to be worth $78M in total.

And with all these rumors circulating, Man United took to Twitter to post a cryptic tweet. The Red Devils wrote “here we go” with the shifty-eyes emoji which could be an innocent post or a hint at something great to come.
